Multiple increase in performing covid-19 molecular tests at the beginning of the fourth peak

The director of corona molecular diagnosis laboratory of Motamed Cancer Institute announced a multiplier capacity for performing corona molecular tests at the beginning of the fourth peak

Simultaneously with the beginning of the terrible corona peak in the country, the director of corona molecular diagnosis laboratory of Motamed Cancer Institute announced a multiplier capacity for performing corona molecular tests with the aim of providing correct and proper services for the dear people.

According to the public relations of the Motamed Cancer Institute, Dr. Ramin Sarrami, the director of Institute, and the director of the laboratory announced that the covid-19 molecular detection laboratory currently has the capacity to accept hundreds of samples per day. In addition, they have clarified that: ‘Covid-19 infection diagnosis laboratory has carried out thousands of the molecular tests since the beginning of its activities. Therefore, due to the urgent need of the country to correct diagnosis of this infection at the time of rising the fourth peak, this laboratory has been able to increase the number of molecular tests since the beginning of the new year and also receive twenty-four hours of samples from clients (even during holidays) also the laboratory has been able to respond to clients with the utmost accuracy and speed.

Dr. Sarrami, with referring to the importance of the ‘correct’ diagnosis of this new infection and in order to preventing people from frequent presence of people to diagnose in medical centers, which leads to doubled pressure for the medical centers and consequently disrupts the services of those centers, announced that:  ‘Using a corona diagnostic kit produced by the research institute with the highest level of sensitivity for detecting the virus and least error in distinguishing the positive and negative responses, is the standard method for the correct diagnosis of covid-19 infection’.

The member of Corona Central Quarter of ACECR then point out that: ‘Motamed Cancer Institute is the first center is the first center in Iran that designed and produced molecular diagnostic kits of corona with the help of Imam Khomeini Executive Headquarter (Setad) and Bahman Investment Group and Barakat Knowledge-Based Group. The institute succeeded in the research phases of designing and developing kits in a short period of time and getting necessary permissions from Iran Pastor Institute and Ministry of Health and Medical Education.’ Then, he added: ‘This complex with producing millions of corona diagnostic kits, until now, has been able to meet most of the needs of reference laboratories in diagnosing corona in the country’.
