Quality of Life Research Group
For several decades, accelerated and holistic human global approach has focused on the complementary and alternative medicine. Around 1970, the rem of ‘Alternative Medicine’ was coined, but soon, until the beginning of 90s, this approach and revolutionary action was modified and ‘Complementary Medicine’ or ‘Complementary Alternative Medicine’ was coined, a perspective that was a balanced and modified one and it gradually became a CAM. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Health (NCCAM) that was set up since October 1998 in NIH, became National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health in 2014. In fact, this rename points out a change in the global approach towards the Comprehensive Medicine, this means that uncommon methods were used in combination with conventional and common medical methods to improve the quality of life of patients.
Therefore, by the order of director of Motamed Cancer Institute in May 2014, according to the increasing popularity of complementary methods in today's society of Iran and the world due to cultural problems and the need in the current situation due to medical gaps or public concerns about Complications of classical treatments, a group called the Comprehensive Medicine Group in Cancer (first, complementary and alternative medicine in the treatment of cancer, which was renamed the Comprehensive Medicine in 1995) was launched. This group started its job in order to verify and review the complimentary methods in cancer treatment and get benefit from those methods. This approach has been started in convergence and harmony with conventional medicine, in order to find ways to improve the treatment status and correct the existing problems in the field of complementary medicine in the country.
The activities of this group could be divided and summarized into two branches: Bioelectromagnetism that is a subfield of Energy Healing, which belongs to Comprehensive Medicine field, and
Natural Products. Also, this group works with the scientific and academic active centers in Iranian Medicine, Medicinal plants and natural products as well as new sciences and technologies to conduct product-based and technologically projects.
In addition, in vitro and in vivo tests and designing and conducting clinical trials with the availability of cell bank and animal samples and cooperation with clinical groups of the research institute, other activities of this group in order to cooperate with organizations and scientific centers to verification or methodological assessments.

Production of products based on comprehensive medicine
Identify the effects of very low frequency magnetic fields for the treatment and recovery of cancer patients

Improving the culture about the comprehensive medicine and introduce and implement of this medicine in the country and area
Establishment of specialized in-body, out-body and human clinical trial service center
