Appointment of Dr. Ramin Sarrami Forooshani as the director of Motamed Cancer Institute (MCI) of ACECR

According to the public relations of the Motamed Cancer Institute, Dr. Ramin Sarrami Foroushani was appointed as the director of Motamed Cancer Institue (Breast Cancer Research Center) by the order of Dr. Hamid Reza Tayebi, the head of ACECR.

It should be noted that Dr. Sarrami Forooshani was previously working as the Vice President for Research, Technology and Specialized Services of the Motamed Cancer Institute of ACECR, and this year he was selected as Iran’s best researcher in the field of medicine.

He is a medical virologist from University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands who has done valuable research in the field of HIV and AIDS, the results of which have been published in the most prestigious international scientific journals such as Nature and Nature Medicine.

In 2016, Dr. Sarrami Forooshani was recognized as the top researcher in the field of HIV and AIDS by the National Institute of NCHIV in the Netherlands and won the first Joep Lange award.

Simultaneously with the uprising of the Corona virus epidemy and due to the serious need of the country for diagnostic kits, Dr. Sarrami Forooshani put the agenda on the design and production of native covid-19 molecular diagnostic kits, which are currently produced in millions and as a leading product. Meeting the national need has resulted in millions of dollars in foreign exchange savings.

Also, in a separate letter, the head of ACECR praised the sincere efforts of Dr. Keyvan Majidzadeh Ardabili during his tenure as the director of the Motamed Cancer Institute (Breast Cancer Research Center)
